Good Plates
A recipe-sharing site where the dishes people actually cook rise to the top.
Most recipe sites are hard to trust. Likes don’t reward good recipes. Instead, nice photos and names that are already big get all the attention. Good Plates is a social platform built around recipes, where people post, comment and react as on any other social site, but what makes a recipe popular is the “I cooked this” button. The more people actually make a dish, the higher it ranks.
I’m building it with Nuxt and TypeScript. I haven’t decided on the backend stack yet, but my current options are Node.js or Python with Flask.
It’s still in development. Most of the work happens on my self-hosted OneDev, so the GitHub repo may not always be up to date.
